Hello from Greece! Since we last checked in we spent two packed days in Rome. We saw the Vatican, St. Peter's, the Cappucin Crypt, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, Colosseum and the ruins. But best of all, we saw Claudia! It was great to have a local show us around.

The first night there we ate at the popular Da Baffetto pizza restaurant. Alana couldn't wait to get a pizza with a fried egg on it- something I had raved about since my last visit to Baffetto. From the pizza menu, she ordered the Calzone- cheese, pancetta, and egg. Not quite. What was delivered to the table was an actual calzone. Alana was very dissappointed. When we were finished eating Sam convinced Alana to order again- he would eat another so she wouldn't feel left out. This time Alana was very clear with our patient waiter: "pizza calzone." Yet, out came another calzone. "Pizza?" Alana questioned to the waiter. "Calzone!" he replied, frustrated. "Si, si," she replied, and began on her second calzone! It was delicious nonetheless. (She got her egg pizza the next day for lunch).

After a troubling Sunday morning (we DO NOT reccommend easyjet), we finally made it to Athens- long after Sam reached the U.S. Spent Monday touring the acropolis, and headed to Santorini on a nine-hour overnight ferry.

The sun is not shining here in Santorini. Our planned week on the beach has changed to a week in all our layers, drinking hot chocolate. While in Santorini we walked around Fira, the main city; took a bus to the black sand beaches of Perissa; and saw the sunset over Oia. Ferry back to Athens today.

Let us preface these pics by saying, uploading them wasn't easy. After hours spent, here's what you get. Enjoy.
